If you don't like that Chick Fil A gives to anti-equality organizations
Then don’t eat there. Sorry. Luckily everyone is afforded their own opinion in America and that’s the opinion they choose. Frankly, they make a fucking stellar chicken sandwich and that’s all I’m really concerned about.
That moment when you look like shit and your parents ask you to run to the store so you slip on some raggedy ass flip flops and carry your unshowered ass to the store. And then you run into your life long (literally since elementary school) crush who is also home for Thanksgiving and they look better than you’ve ever seen them look. And of course you bump into them twice on accident because, you know, the world hates everything about you.
I just finished registering for my last semester of undergrad. It seems crazy that after this Spring, it will all be over. I’ve been in school for five years - four of which have been at VCU. I know its corny to say “It feels just like yesterday…” but it really does. I can remember the first day I moved to Richmond, by myself, with all of my belongings in the trunk of my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I can remember all of the times it felt so improbable, I can remember all of the times I’ve wanted to drop out (I still want to drop out on most days); but the fact that everything will finally be ending in six short months from now is kind of sad. I’ve had the time of my life at VCU and I can honestly say Richmond has changed me for the better.
But now it’s time to be drunk and enjoy the next six months before entering the world of being just another unemployed college graduate buried in debt.
Thoughts on Occupy Wall Street, Oakland, Richmond, et al.
Get over yourselves and do something more productive with your life. Your method has failed and failed time again and will continue to fail (see: 60’s, 70’s). You obviously know nothing about capitalism if you can’t see that it benefits you in almost every way. We get it. You’re not happy about living in the first world in a middle class system that affords you the rights and privileges of quitting your life for 45 days to live in tents and protest how disenfranchised you are - all while blogging about it from your iPads and MacBook Pros. Get over yourselves.
